Meet Tumbles, a small, sweet shelter puppy who was born with only two hind legs. At first, animal rescue staff members didn't think he'd make it, but lately Tumbles has been making great strides--literally.
That's because a friend of his new adoptive owners at the Friends of the Shelter Dogs in Athens, Ohio had the genius idea to see if a small set of wheels might be the key to helping Tumbles walk on his own. A design was submitted to the Ohio University Innovation Center, where lab workers crafted the tiny wheels and then stopped by the shelter so that Tumbles could give them a spin.
His first few wobbly steps are simply incredible to watch--check it out below.
P.S. Though the puppy "wheelchair" turned out to be a big too big for Tumbles, another smaller set is in the works. We wish him the best.
