Queen Elizabeth Steps Out With David Attenborough

Queen Elizabeth has stepped out mere moments after an announcement from the palace that has rocked many to their core. The reigning monarch was business as usual despite her son, Prince Andrew, dramatically quitting his royal duties just moments before.

Arriving at Chatham House less than half an hour after the announcement was made, the queen looked to be in high spirits. Showing no sign that anything unusual had happened, the Queen was seen laughing and smiling at the event with renowned documentary maker, Sir David Attenborough.

She even shared a sweet anecdote with David, telling him, “Sir David, this award recognizes your many talents and one can’t help but feel that, for those of us of a certain generation, we can take great pleasure in proving age is no barrier to being a positive influence.”

The queen also delivered a beautiful speech at the event, which was held to present both David and the head of the BBC Natural History Unit, Julian Hector, with the Chatham House Prize for 2019. The recognition was for their incredible work in highlighting ocean plastic pollution.

“Your ability to communicate the beauty and vulnerability of our natural environment remains unequaled as you — and your team — have engaged and enthused many people, young and old, to appreciate and preserve our world’s oceans,” the queen said.

Wearing a beautiful pale pink ensemble, which was designed by Angela Kelly, the queen was absolutely glowing. She even snuck in a cheeky joke when signing the visitors’ book, stating that she knew what the date was, and quipping that it “proves I came here.”

The queen’s unperturbed display comes after Prince Andrew’s explosive BBC interview, which addressed claims that he was connected to alleged trafficker Jeffrey Epstein.

His unexpected tell-all was unconvincing to many, with the royal receiving a high amount of backlash from various media outlets, and even some of the organizations he is connected to as a royal.

In his statement released this morning, the prince shared his regret over the matter.

“It has become clear to me over the last few days that the circumstances relating to my former association with Jeffrey Epstein have become a major disruption to my family’s work and the valuable work going on in the many organizations and charities that I am proud to support.” He added that the queen had therefore given him permission to step back from his royal duties.
