Oh Fudge: You Can Visit Ralphie’s Actual Home From ‘Christmas Story’ and Stay Overnight

Tags:

Do you look forward to tuning into the 24 hour marathon of A Christmas Story every holiday season? Well, imagine doing that while staying in the actual home where they filmed the iconic Christmas classic

We aren’t talking about a hypothetical fantasy like one of Ralphie’s daydreams in the festive flick. The real house is located in Cleveland, Ohio, and has been restored to look exactly like it did in the movie. You can book an overnight stay or just take a tour and step inside the living room where Ralphie modeled his “Pink Nightmare” bunny outfit, the kitchen where his mom got little brother Randy to eat like a little piggy, and the very window where his dad put his “Major Award” Leg Lamp on display for the whole block to see.

Guests who stay overnight have access to a third floor loft which includes a bedroom, living room, full kitchen, and bathroom. It can accommodate up to six people with a queen bed, queen pull-out sleeper sofa, and twin beds made up just like Ralphie and Randy’s were in the movie.

They also restored the house next door, which fans of the movie will remember was owned by the Bumpus family and their hoard of hound dogs who constantly frustrated Ralphie’s old man. It doesn’t look like they will provide any turkey-stealing pooches, but you can also book a stay in the home and easily pop right over to look at Ralphie’s digs.

Along with the houses, you can visit the Christmas Story Museum to check out original props from the movie, like the red snowsuit that made it impossible for Ralphie’s little brother to put his arms down after getting bundled up by their mom.

If you can’t make it to Cleveland during the holiday season, don’t worry — the houses and museum are open all year round. There’s never a bad time to stop in and reminisce about this delightfully nostalgic Christmas film!

We triple dog dare you to head over to the official Christmas Story House & Museum website for more information on how you can get this amazing glimpse into movie history.

Just leave your Red Ryder BB gun at home — you don’t want to shoot your eye out while soaking up all the Christmas magic.
