Meghan and Harry Just Dropped a New Photo and Video of Archie for His 1st Birthday

Tags:

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are renowned for keeping mom on all things personal, especially when it comes to their baby son Archie.

But it seems special times call for very special measures — and they’ve just dropped an extremely rare picture and video of the young royal for his first birthday, and suffice to say it was every bit worth the wait.

As Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor turned one on May 6 (yes, it’s been a whole year since Meghan and Harry made the whirlwind announcement that they had finally welcomed their son), the Sussex pair decided to mark the occasion with a brand-new photo which proves just how quickly a year really goes.

In the image, which was shared to Twitter via the charity Save The Children UK, Archie is seen avidly reading the book Duck! Rabbit!. It is understood the image and video was captured by Prince Harry.

In an accompanying video, Archie is very excited as his mum reads him the book — towards the end, the pair adorably celebrate.

The rare new image proves the young royal is quickly growing up to look more like his parents every day.

Late last year, a family friend revealed Archie had “tufts” of red hair, and his doe eyes had us completely convinced he was truly taking after his dad Harry.

Now, seeing him that excited little grin, we can’t help but think he looks even more like Harry!

The last time we caught a glimpse of baby Archie was Christmas 2019 when the pair shared a sweet virtual Christmas card photo featuring the curious baby looking into the camera while his parents smiled behind him.

A few days later, the pair released one more striking image of the young tot while he holidayed in Canada.

Perched perfectly in Harry’s arms, the wrapped up royal looked adorable in a brown jacket and grey woollen hat.

In March, the pair relocated from their former temporary digs on Vancouver Island to Meghan’s former hometown Los Angeles, which is where Archie’s grandmother Doria Ragland resides.

While their settling in period has been somewhat turbulent as the COVID-19 pandemic forces cities into various states of lockdown, it seems the family-of-three are remaining active in any way they can.

Both Meghan and Harry have been busy reaching out to their royal patronages via video calls to check in and showcase their work in light of the pandemic.

They also worked closely with local food charity Project Angel, where they were spotted in LA (wearing masks and casually dressed) delivering meals to the vulnerable.

With even more updates and announcements coming regularly from the now pared back royals, it seems we’ve got plenty to look forward to.

A lot really can happen in a year!
