Although most of us are gearing up for the new school year to start, students across the pond in the UK just received their final pre-college grades. Similar to the SATs we take here, British students sit for what’s known as their A-Level exams. Even members of the royal family have to go through the academic rite of passage — and we have the scoop on their grades!
Who do you think got the most A’s: Prince William, Kate Middleton, or Prince Harry? Well, you may remember the younger prince being known for his “bad boy” reputation while attending Eton College, the same posh boarding school William attended before him. According to Hello! magazine, that reflected in his test results. He managed to get B in art, but the poor thing didn’t do so well when it came to geography, earning himself a D. We’re sure he picked up more geographical knowledge traveling around as a member of the British Army after his time at school.
Will, on the other hand, seemed to have a much better handle on his geography studies. He earned an A in the subject and also aced History of Art. Biology, however, wasn’t his strong suit with a C on that exam. His wife Kate tied him with two A’s of her own: one in math and another in art. She also scored a B in English, making her combined average just a bit higher than her husband’s. Imagine being able to tease the future king about being “the smart one” in the relationship!
Back in his own school days, Prince Charles performed pretty similarly to both his sons with a B in history — but was only comme ci comme ça (or “so so”) when it came to mastering French, though. He earned a C on that test.
And while Queen Elizabeth was given private tutoring lessons growing up, she never actually sat for a single exam! We’re sure she would have had a few A’s under her belt if she had.
Aside from the Queen, it’s nice to know that despite their fancy upbringing in massive palaces, we all had to go through the stress of these academic tests!
