Mom DIYs Daughter's Wheelchair Into Cinderella's Carriage for Halloween

It may have been her glass slipper that brought Prince Charming to Cinderella, but Cinderella wouldn’t have made it to the castle in the first place without a carriage. So it’s beautifully fitting that when 3-year-old Roslyn Breen dressed up as the classic princess, she also got to take a magical ride in a carriage all her own: her wheelchair.

Roslyn was born with a muscular condition — doctors are still trying to pinpoint the exact diagnosis — that prevents her from walking. But Tiffany Breen, Roslyn’s mother, was determined to make sure her daughter didn’t miss out on a beautiful Halloween. Like many young girls, Rosalyn adores Disney princesses, so Tiffany went above and beyond to give her beloved daughter a fairy tale of her own.

“Roz is forever my little princess,” Tiffany said. “And she loves Disney, so we knew Cinderella was something she’d really want.”

Rosalyn looked lovely as could be in Cinderella’s signature poofy light blue ball gown and fancy slippers. Much like her outfit, her ride was nothing short of stylish. It took lots of hard work and dedication for Tiffany to put together the carriage — an extensive DIY project she did at her home in Comstock Park, Michigan.

Tiffany scavenged her home for supplies, including hula hoops, zip ties, tinsel, ribbons, and battery-operated lights, so that her daughter’s carriage could glow in the dark. Since successfully putting the whole look together, Tiffany has taken her daughter to a couple of Halloween-themed events at their local zoo. Naturally, the costume’s popularity has skyrocketed.

“I wanted her to draw attention in a positive way,” Tiffany said. “A lot of times we get stares for [a] different reason.”

Considering the enormously positive response the costume has received so far in real life and online, we’re sure many adoring eyes will be on Rosalyn when she goes out for trick-or-treating on the actual holiday.
