She Asked Her Nursery School Students for Baby Name Suggestions, and What She Got Will Crack You Up

Tags:

It’s a universal truth: Little kids say and do the darnedest things. So when you ask kids for their opinions on any important matter, you should know that you’re opening yourself up to some potentially hilarious responses.

That’s what happened to Julie Siakpere, 35, a pre-K instructor at the La Crosse Area Family YMCA in Wisconsin, who is five months pregnant. To surprise Siakpere, her co-teacher asked the students what they’d name the baby if it was their choice–and the responses were, well, quite typical for a group of four- and five-year-olds.

This is the poster Siakpere was presented with after she headed to a doctor’s appointment. In addition to guessing the gender, the students threw out some random (and awesome!) name suggestions, including Peter Pan, Grandma, Tiny, Potato, and Balloon.

“Their personalities came out. We have some pretty funny kids,” the mom-to-be told ABC News.

We wonder if she’ll take any of these name picks into serious consideration? After all, “Balloon” does have a nice ring to it!
