A lot of people ask Laura Floyd why she has three wedding rings, especially since one of them is broken. It's a simple enough question, but her response to it is taking the Internet's collective breath away.
As Floyd explained in a viral Love What Matters post, the ring is not actually broken, but cut. The cut was necessary when she had preeclampsia with her first child. Even though she got a new set, she could not let the cut one go.
That's where it gets interesting.
"Me and my husband got married when I was 19 and he was 21. We were young and in love and pretty much broke. Our first set of rings maybe cost $300 total for mine plus his," she wrote. "To me this broken ring is a symbol of love and never ending faith."
After all, they've been through a lot together in the past 10 years. So that's why she'll always wear her broken ring.
She wrote, "It's my proof that even though something may be broken or not up to society's standards it doesn't matter. What matters is the pure love and strength we both have for each other."
