Mom Boycotting Facebook Stops in Her Tracks When She Sees a Tagged Photo of Her Son

Mom Stacey Philpot was fed up with Facebook. From seeing political arguments to name-calling litter her newsfeed, she decided she had enough. So she went on a hiatus.

Until her friend alerted her to a photo she was tagged in–that she “wouldn’t want to miss.”

It was a photo from “See You at the Pole Day,” a day where students are encouraged to gather together at their school’s flagpoles to pray for their communities.

There was only one person by the flagpole. And it was her son, Hayden.

The best part? This photo was taken by a total stranger.

The passerby wrote,

“I commend the young man that stood alone at Lake Minneola High School’s ‘See You at the Pole Day.’ I welled up with tears, happy tears, proud tears. I honestly didn’t know that it was today until after I had left and heard it on the radio.

Please take a moment today to pray for our children, school, teachers, and administrators. Pray for protection over them, guidance, wisdom, and a wonderfully blessed year.”

Now that Hayden’s act of standing alone has been shared far beyond his local community the teen himself is “humbled” and “amazed” by the response.

“When I went out and saw no one was there, I just expected others would come a little bit later, and started praying,” he said. “When I realized no one else was coming, I thought that this could be used to influence the community or even just one person. So that’s one of the things I prayed for—the first and biggest thing.”
