We Had No Idea Taco Bell’s Value Menu Existed — and It’s Such a Good Deal

Thanks to Taco Bell’s value menu, it can be Taco Tuesday every day of the week. But if you were totally unaware that Taco Bell has all the deals, you’re not the only one. Fortunately, you’re just in time to taste-test all the new additions to the value menu at Taco Bell.

Taco Bell announced in a press release that it would be almost doubling the number of items on its $1 menu from 11 to 20, proving its value menu will truly “reign supreme.” On December 21, Taco Bell will give fans an early Christmas gift by adding the $1 stacker — essentially a quesadilla with beef and cheese folded into itself (yum!) — to its value menu. Taco-lovers will then have to wait until 2018 to enjoy the rest of the new additions.

But with so many new menu items, including Taco Bell fries that are nacho-flavored and a $1 Kit Kat quesadilla called the chocodilla — basically full-sized Kit Kat bars and melted chocolate inside a tortilla (double yum!) — hungry eaters will have plenty of menu options to keep them full.

This news comes shortly after McDonald’s reminded the world that it too was updating its value menu. The much-loved McDonald’s dollar menu ended in 2013, but this year, the company announced that it was bringing back an updated version that features $1, $2, and $3 options. Not the same if you ask us, but a deal is a deal.

“I think a lot of places begrudgingly try to figure out what food to serve at these price points,” Brian Niccol, Taco Bell’s chief executive officer, said in an interview, according to Time. “We choose to lean into it.”

So while Taco Bell and McDonald’s duke it out for the unofficial title of the best value menu, we’re content to enjoy all the weird-yet-delicious food options these chains keep coming up with.
