They're all for one, they're one for all, they're All-Americans! Can you believe it's been well over 20 years since the release of the beloved female baseball movie, A League of Their Own? It seems that plenty of the actresses from the 1992 flick are still friendly, as evidenced by the heartwarming cast reunion that took place this past weekend.
Remember these ladies?
Actress Geena Davis, who starred in the movie, organized a special reunion baseball game on Mother's Day at the Bentonville Film Festival (of which she's a co-founder) in Bentonville, AK. Making fans super-happy, several of her castmates came out to play, including Megan Cavanagh, Anne Ramsey, Tracy Reiner, Ann Cusack, Freddie Simpson, and Patti Pelton. (Sadly a few of the original ladies didn't make it this year.)
The pictures are utterly touching, especially if you loved the sweet, female empowerment-themed film about the all-women's baseball league that cropped up during World War II.
Geena Davis and Anne Ramsay, two of the stars of A League of Their Own, pose for a selfie during today's softball game. The game brought back 6 of the original cast and one of the original Rockford Peaches! It was a great capstone to this week's film festival. #bfffestival #ballgame #softball #leagueoftheirown #film #filmfestival #sports #girlpower #strongwomen #rockford #peaches
“This event was so popular last year that we decided to do it again,” Davis stated prior to the game. “And I’m so thrilled to have six of my Rockford Peaches cast mates attending the game this year!”
So are we, Geena!
