You've heard of beach wedding ideas. But have you heard of under-the-sea weddings? And no, in case you're wondering, we're not talking about The Little Mermaid.
We're talking about recently wedded Susana and Jovany Zamos, who dreamt of getting married in the middle of the Caribbean Sea in November 2016. And get this: they actually made their dream come true.
“We had a wedding planner who told us, "No! You can't do that! It's far too complicated," Susana said of the experience.
Most people that Susana spoke to had a similar reaction to the wedding planner. That is, until they met the folks over at Del Sol Photography who not only encouraged their plans, but also decided to help them photograph it.
“The idea of having a whole wedding ceremony in the water was incredible. I could imagine the amazing visuals," said the principal photographer Sol Tamargo. "When do you get to photograph a wedding in the ocean, with a surf board and an altar?”
As it turned out, in November 2016 for this couple!
The lovebirds, along with 100 guests boarded a boat in Mexico to take them to to the El Cielo sandbar in the middle of the sea. And the photographers made good on their promises.
The photographers used a drone flying above the sea to take gorgeous aerial shots, while a photographer snapped pics in the middle of the sea using a huge underwater camera.
It took a team of eight photographers, videographers, and drone operators to fully capture the big day.
And for the happy bride, it couldn't have been more wonderful.
“I have always loved the water. I’m a scuba diver and was fortunate enough to grow up with a pool in the backyard and the sea not far away," Susana said. "My happiest days were always in the water."
