When you think of wedding-day must-haves, the rings are a pretty integral piece of the day, right? After all, many couples ask adorable ring bearers to be on hand for the big day, just to look after these important, symbolic, and many times expensive items right up until the moment they're slipped on the fingers of the happy couple.
Well, for Mandy Grogg and husband Ryan Williams, who are both currently serving with the U.S. Army in Germany, the rings caused some last-minute panic right before their Kansas City, MO wedding last month--but luckily, the couple used humor to get through what could have been a stressful ordeal.
It all started when they got some bad news from their jeweler: Their wedding bands, which they had been having sized, had been stolen from the back of a FedEx truck. Not only that, Grogg's engagement ring--which she had sent to be cleaned--was also taken.
"They offered to give us fake rings that we could use," Grogg told Today. "But it felt weird doing that. We were sitting in the car and I jokingly said, 'Well, we can go buy Ring Pops.'"
Their families agreed that it was best to find some humor in the situation, so they embarked on a mission to find the retro candy. Luckily, a local grocery store still carried Ring Pops, so they bought the supply and shared the candy rings with their guests--and of course, took some unforgettable wedding photos.
"It was a crappy situation, but it really turned out good," Grogg said later (and by the way, they're in the process of getting replacement rings returned to them).
Guess their tale proves that all's well that ends well! See more of their wacky ring photos in this fun video.
