When Michelle Flynn went to the hospital to deliver her baby, she was surprised to be going in a week earlier than her due date. What was even more shocking was that her sister, Siobhan Murray, was also pregnant and a week overdue, and Michelle had beaten her to the delivery room!
At least, that's what she thought.
It turns out, these two sisters share everything-- including their delivery dates! By some extraordinary coincidence, they ended up having their babies on the same day. Not only this, but the two of them were actually in the same hospital, Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow, at the same time--and neither knew that the other sister was there! And if those similarities weren't enough, they both gave birth to beautiful baby girls.
This turn of events was revealed to the sisters in an equally surprising way, when Michelle made a playful comment to her husband, Dave. He told The Daily Record, "After our daughter was born, Michelle joked she’d never hear the end of it because Siobhan was a week overdue. The midwife team couldn’t believe it when she mentioned her name and told us she was two doors down in the delivery suite."
According to the senior charge midwife, Gaynor Bird, “It’s rare we have two sisters giving birth on the same day.” In fact, there's only a 1000-1 chance of something like this happening, which makes these babies' birthdate even more special.
We hope that these little cousins grow up to be just as close as their mothers are now!
