Microwaving oil with minced garlic infuses it with bold flavor in a flash — perfect for making this toasted and seasoned French bread extra irresistible.
- 3 tbsp. olive oil
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- 1 loaf French bread, halved lengthwise
- 2 tsp. dried Italian seasoning
- Salt and pepper
- 1/4 c. grated Parmesan or Pecorino-Romano cheese or a mix
Heat oven to 400°F. Line baking sheet with aluminum foil. In microwave-safe bowl, combine olive oil and minced garlic. Microwave in 15-sec. intervals until fragrant; reserve.
Place French bread, cut sides up, on baking sheet; brush cut sides with reserved garlic oil. Sprinkle with Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper.
Dividing evenly, sprinkle grated cheese over bread. Bake until cheese is lightly browned, 8–10 min. Let cool slightly before serving.
