Dressed up with smoky bacon, sautéed onions, and a bit of butter, this super-easy holiday side is guaranteed to please.
- 4 strips thick-cut bacon
- 2 tbsp butter
- 1 lb Brussels sprouts, trimmed, halved
- 1/2 large onion, chopped
- Salt and freshly ground pepper
In large skillet over medium-high heat, cook bacon until crispy, about 5 min. Drain on paper towel-lined plate; coarsely chop.
In same skillet with bacon fat over medium heat, melt butter. Add Brussels sprouts, onions, and 1/3 cup of water; cover and cook until sprouts are golden brown and tender, 10 min., stirring occasionally.
Uncover skillet; cook sprouts until any liquid evaporates, 2-3 min. Season with salt and pepper to taste; toss backon back into pan. Serve immediately.
