Fatima Stanford, MD, MPH, MPA

Dr. Fatima Stanford, MD, MPH, MPA, is an Associate Professor of Medicine and Pediatrics at Massachusetts General Hospital and Harvard Medical School, and one of the first fellowship-trained obesity medicine physicians worldwide. A leading physician-scientist with more than 200 peer-reviewed publications, her work focuses on obesity treatment and reducing health disparities.

She earned degrees from Emory University, the Medical College of Georgia, the Harvard Kennedy School and the Quantic School of Business and Technology, and completed her training at MGH/HMS and the University of South Carolina. Widely recognized for her leadership and impact, Dr. Stanford has received numerous national honors and was named to the 2025 Dietary Guidelines Advisory Committee.
