Lily Johnston, MD, MPH, FSVS

Dr. Lily Johnston is a double board-certified vascular and general surgeon with advanced training in public health. She earned her medical degree from the University of California, San Diego, her Master of Public Health from Johns Hopkins, and completed her general surgery residency at the University of Virginia followed by a vascular surgery fellowship at the Mayo Clinic.

Her surgical practice at Scripps Memorial Hospital in La Jolla, CA, focuses on treating the end stages of atherosclerosis—limb- and life-threatening expressions of cardiovascular disease that expose the downstream cost of metabolic dysfunction. As founder of CorSight Health, Dr. Johnston leads a preventive cardiometabolic clinic dedicated to early detection and reversal of disease through advanced imaging, metabolic assessment, and lifestyle-first interventions.

She is an active author and national speaker whose work explores both the science and the culture of medicine—how clinicians’ environments, incentives, and disconnection shape the care they deliver. Her mission is to restore medicine’s roots in meaning, connection, and prevention.

Dr. Johnston’s work bridges disciplines—cardiology, endocrinology, obesity medicine, women’s health—to advance preventive cardiometabolic care and reimagine how medicine addresses chronic disease.
