Maria K. Houtchens, MD

Maria K. Houtchens is a neurologist and Associate Professor of Neurology at Harvard Medical School, based at Brigham and Women’s Hospital. She serves as the Director of Clinical Care at the Brigham MS Center and is a nationally recognized expert in multiple sclerosis, with a particular focus on women’s health in MS, including pregnancy management and maternal outcomes. Dr. Houtchens earned her MD from the University of Utah and completed her neurology training and fellowship at Brigham and Women’s Hospital. She is also the founder and principal investigator of PREG-MS, the first prospective MS pregnancy registry in the U.S., and contributes to international collaborations in neuroimmunology and reproductive health.
