Vanessa Cushing, LPC, NCC, MS

Vanessa Cushing, LPC, NCC, CST, is an AASECT Certified Sex Therapist, licensed professional counselor, clinical supervisor, and the founder of Cushing Counseling, a private practice specializing in sex and couples therapy.

Vanessa earned her bachelor’s degree in Psychology and Women, Gender & Sexuality from the University of Virginia, where she graduated Phi Beta Kappa, and her master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Johns Hopkins University. She later completed advanced training in sex therapy through the University of Michigan.
 
Her clinical work focuses on helping individuals and couples navigate concerns related to sexual desire, intimacy, sexual functioning, relationship conflict, and sexual pain. Her approach integrates evidence-based sex and couples therapy with an affirming, trauma-informed perspective.
 
Vanessa is also the founder and CEO of Sex Therapy Pro, a sexual wellness technology company focused on making evidence-based sexual health education and support more accessible. Her work sits at the intersection of psychotherapy, sexual health, technology, and public education.
 
Beyond clinical practice, Vanessa is a speaker and educator on sexuality, relationships, and the evolving role of artificial intelligence in mental and sexual health. She has presented for professional and academic audiences and has been featured as an expert in media discussing sex, relationships, and sexual wellness.
