Keep scrolling to see the many ways to put a pep in your step and beautify your skin and hair in no time.

Peppermint oil for skin: It brightens the complexion

Does your complexion look lackluster this time of year? Applying a minty face mask can freshen it up. That’s because menthol, the main component in mint, improves circulation, so skin looks brighter and more youthful. Peppermint oil also temporarily tightens enlarged pores and reduces oiliness. You’ll be left with skin that looks glowing not greasy. Find it in: Lush Mask of Magnaminty.

Peppermint oil for skin: It eliminates bloat

If you happen to overindulge this holiday season on salty treats or bubbly drinks that leave you feeling puffy, step into a peppermint oil-infused bath. Compounds like menthol and monoterpene in the oil absorb into the skin, stimulating the lymphatic system to expel excess fluids and toxins.
Try it: Combine 1 cup of Epsom salts (its anti-inflammatory properties also ease swelling) and 5 drops of peppermint essential oil. Add the mixture to a tub filled with warm water and soak for 15 minutes. Tip: do a patch test of peppermint oil on the skin to make sure you have no skin irritations to the oil.

If you’re not a fan of baths, a peppermint wrap can also help with belly bloat. To do: Mix a few drops (1-2) of peppermint oil (or 1 Tbs. of chopped mint leaves) and 1⁄4 cup of olive oil. Rub onto the stomach; wrap the area loosely with plastic wrap. After 15 minutes, remove the wrap and rinse.

Peppermint oil for skin: It softens dry, rough patches

For skin that feels dry, rough and scaly, turn to peppermint oil. The oil’s antioxidants repair dry, rough skin. Boost the benefits with exfoliating sugar and moisturizing jojoba oil.
Try it: Mix 1 Tbs. of sugar, 11⁄2 Tbs. of jojoba oil and 3 drops of peppermint oil. While showering, rub onto the skin for 1 minute; rinse.

The oil extracted from mint leaves is loaded with antibacterial agents that kill acne-causing bacteria on the skin, while its anti-inflammatory properties soothe and heal blemishes fast. Try it: Add a handful of fresh mint leaves to a heat-safe bowl. Bring 2 cups of distilled water to a boil and pour over the leaves. Let steep for 30 minutes, then pour into a lidded jar. Apply with a cotton pad to freshly washed skin. Store a jar in the fridge for two weeks.

Peppermint oil for skin: It plumps the pout

Using a minty scrub on lips works two ways to make a deflated pout appear fuller. First, it gently exfoliates to remove the dead, dry skin that can emphasize thin lips. Then peppermint increases blood flow to the area, plumping lips for up to a few hours. It also contains collagen-producing vitamin A, so lips appear more plump over time.
Try it: Mix 1⁄2 tsp. of brown sugar, 2 drops of peppermint essential oil and 1⁄4 tsp. of olive oil. Rub on clean, dry lips for 1 minute, then wipe off.

You can also enhance your pout and get the same plumping results by diluting peppermint oil in your lip gloss as dermatologist Azadeh Shirazi, MD mentions in her TikTok below. Simply add one drop of peppermint essential oil to a tube of lip gloss and mix to combine before swiping onto lips.
