Love is in the air at the 2026 Winter Olympics!

The Olympic village is full of talented athletes doing everything they can to be the best in their sport. But training for up to 8 hours a day for several years doesn’t leave a lot of room to meet a partner off the ice.

Multiple Olympic couples have found their forever partner through their passion for a shared sport or their participation in the Games, and many are competing for the gold right now. Meet these four couples who have found love in the Olympic village (or on their journey there) and are trying to win gold right now!

American bobsledders Kaysha Love and Hunter Powell have found forever with each other. The Olympic-duo first met as track and field athletes while attending the University of Nevada. Once Love graduated, she tried out bobsledding and eventually went on to compete in the 2022 Winter Olympics in Beijing. She later convinced Powell to try it as well and he is currently competing in his first Games.

After years of dating, Powell recently popped the question and the two got engaged in 2025. He shared a video of the proposal with the caption, “I love you to the moon and back and infinitely more, Kaysha Love. I always have and I always will.”

Madison Chock and Evan Bates

The golden couple of ice dance, Madison Chock and Evan Bates, have been partners on and off the ice for years. The duo went on one date in 2008 but they remained friends afterwards. But in 2011, as it turned out, both needed new ice dancing partners and the two finally teamed up.

However, it wasn’t until 2017 that the skating partners fell in love with one another. Bates shared that he fell first, though it was some time before he admitted that.

I wanted to stop skating, honestly, and thought the 2018 Olympics would be our final hurrah,” Bates noted. “But in the back of my mind, I was really scared that we were going to walk away and never see each other again. I really didn’t want that to happen. I felt strongly that I wanted to be more than just skating partners.”

Luckily, Chock felt the same way. Although she had a rule that she would never date her skate partner, she couldn’t fight the way she felt about Bates. Now, Chock is competing in her fourth Olympics while it is Bates’ fifth, and the two just won a silver medal.

Canadian hockey players Marie-Philip Poulin and Laura Stacey have been happy and in love since 2017. The couple had an unexpected meet-cute during a late night swim that year and have been dating ever since.

The two of us looked up into the sky at the same time and we saw a shooting star,” Stacey shared. “Our eyes met and we asked each other if we just saw that. Nobody else in the pool saw it or knew what was going on, but we saw it. For the rest of that night it was weird. I had a feeling.”

In September 2024, the couple tied the knot and the two are currently competing for Team Canada in the 2026 games.

These American athletes first met while competing at the 2022 Winter Games. Although they had known each other for years prior from different Team USA events, Speedskater Brittany Bowe and ice hockey player Hilary Knight first connected at the Games after they began taking walks at night together.

[It was] a very unique way to meet someone, but it was also kind of cool because we felt like we were in this bubble,” Bowe said. “We didn’t have the family, the friends, no outside distractions. And we really had a lot of time just to get to know each other.”

The two are currently in a long-term relationship and competing in the current Olympic games
