‘General Hospital’ Star Brook Kerr Talks Portia and Curtis Crisis—‘There’s a Problem, and It’s Not Drew!’ (EXCLUSIVE)
The soap star talks love triangles, blackmail, ‘Passions’ and looking fab at 51
With Drew demanding Portia use her medical access to frame Michael on General Hospital, soap opera beauty Brook Kerr warns Woman’s World that her upstanding character is nearing rock bottom. GH’s co-chief of staff is threatening to confess her crime to the board, but next week, Portia makes a move that could change the game for everyone tied to Drew’s blackmail scheme—not to mention Willow’s custody battle.
As the tension rises, Kerr also dishes on Portia’s marriage to Curtis, distrust of Jordan, and feelings for this new guy, Isaiah.
The Passions alum also reflects on what it’s been like to come up with pals like Lindsay Hartley, not to mention Daytime Emmy-winner and 2025 nominee Eric Martsolf.
Plus, with Kerr planning to spend the month of July baking under the California sun, the 51-year-old reveals her secret to looking so fabulous.
‘GH’ star Brook Kerr on facing off with Drew—‘This just isn’t Portia’s world’

If we’d talked to Brook Kerr when she first joined General Hospital five years ago, it would have been all about Portia and her daughter. With her character’s med school diploma and marriage in tatters, there’s a lot more to talk about these days… but it’s still all about Trina.
“Portia compromised herself with Heather’s blood tests, because a serial killer was trying to kill her daughter,” Brook Kerr reminds. “Now Drew wants her to do it again, but this is to take children from their father!
“This just isn’t Portia’s world,” she sighs. “Drew coming into this whole thing threw her. This is not a Portia situation. This is a Sonny situation! So she’s trying her best to take things as they come, while maintaining her foundation of the perfect life that she feels she’s created.”
‘GH’ star Brook Kerr is thrilled Portia’s ‘making moves’—even if they’re the wrong ones!

Since surviving Trina’s paternity reveal, Portia’s built the family she never dreamed she’d have with Curtis—and since teaming with Nina to save that family from Drew, she’s proved to be surprisingly good at giving side-eyes and throwing fits, not to mention setting someone up!
“First of all, Cynthia Watros and Maura West are amazing,” Kerr says of getting to scheme with Nina and Ava’s portrayers. “Before, Portia was always in a room stressed about something. She was never out there in the streets, making moves. Finally, I was asked to be out with Nina and not just in my head, so it was a huge release.”

“I’m a Scorpio woman, and it’s very much like you’re full on or full off,” she adds. “There’s no middle ground. When something gets to you, on this core level, the time for talking is over. And that’s how I feel Portia is with her family and everything she’s worked so hard for. When the conflict clicks into threatening what defines her, that’s what clicks her into that dark place.”
On Portia and Curtis—’There’s a problem, and it’s not Drew!”

Curtis managed to forgive Portia for lying about Trina, but her latest round of lies has dug them into a serious hole and it’s not clear whether their marriage can climb out of it.
“It’s a definite crisis,” Kerr admits. “I love that Portia’s standing up, because it’s fun to play… but why am I not talking to my husband? I had to come up with her justifications, and then finally, there were a couple of episodes where she said, ‘I shouldn’t be scared to talk to you,’ and those were pivotal scenes for my character. It comes down to Portia not wanting to disappoint Curtis or scar the image she’s created. She’s afraid they won’t make it past this, and she’s making decisions off of fear instead of the strength they’ve built.
“She’s been so dutiful, being the good wife and helping him get out of the wheelchair and all that,” she adds. “But if your woman doesn’t feel like she can talk to you, there’s a problem—and it’s not Drew!”
The chemistry crossing between Portia, Curtis, Jordan and Isaiah

Amid the drama of trying to get out from under Drew’s thumb, Portia has also been triggered by Jordan—the woman Curtis was married to right before they got back together.
“It’s just one thing after the other for Portia, and there’s no time to catch your breath,” Kerr says. “As soon as one problem happens, you turn around and Jordan’s walking in the door, again.
“The question now is, ‘Am I overreacting… or am I finally waking up?’” she poses in character. “I’d put Jordan in the category of someone I don’t have to worry about anymore. I thought we were going to have this great little team thing going. But she’s constantly there and it’s hitting me the wrong way when I’m not in my best place, anyway. So let me throw this glass of water in her face! Let me at least get one tiny win for the day!”
With Portia feeling hemmed in from all sides, she’s not only showing her claws, but she’s also spending a lot more time with her coworker—and Jordan’s other ex—Isaiah.
“Isaiah is a breath of fresh air,” Kerr says. “Portia’s built up a wall with Curtis in dealing with all these problems, but Isaiah seems to have a calming energy. It’s just so nice to hear someone say, ‘It’s gonna be okay. You shouldn’t be treated like this. You’re gonna make it.’ She’s just yearning for that so much.”
‘GH’ sunworshipper Brook Kerr shares her secret to looking so young

As her character spirals out on-air, Kerr is using the General Hospital summer hiatus to do the exact opposite.
“I need to recharge, so I’m doing Calabasas,” she cheers. “My girlfriend has a house out there, so I will be staying with her and enjoying the pool, laying out, and cooking out. It’s my favorite thing, smelling barbecue and a little bit of roasting on your skin from the sun!”
Yes, this 51-year-old beauty is a sunworshipper—so naturally, we had to ask how she’s barely aged since landing on Passions at the turn of the century.
“I do a lot of retinol,” Kerr shares. “I got introduced to it pretty early, because I get moles. It’s hereditary, and the retinol helps them, and I was like, ‘Hey, this is kind of helping with anti-aging, as well!’ That’s the only thing I do for my face, and then yes, I try to keep it tight and right, as well. I work out.”
‘Passions’ alum Brook Kerr reflects on her costars

Kerr also has a support system she relies on—and it includes her pal Lindsay Hartley, who goes all the way back to her first daytime gig and also directed her in the 2019 film Mommy Is a Murderer.
“During the Passions years, we grew up as young ladies,” Kerr reflects. “We were figuring out who we were, and then life came at both of us. It’s been this great journey of touching base with each other to talk about the good things and find out how we’ve managed these ups and downs of life—especially because we played pretend with so many ups and downs! This genre is worst-case scenario living. She’s been a great touchstone for me. It’s awesome. I love her.”
The actress has also enjoyed her former costars’ success—from Eric Martsolf and Galen Gering, who’ve been on Days of Our Lives since Passions ended, to Tracker star Justin Hartley.
“It’s so cool to see,” she says. “And Eric got nominated for an Emmy again, which is amazing. Sometimes, I’m at an award ceremony, and I’m like, ‘Oh my god, here’s my life in front of me!’ I’m so proud of everybody. But that show taught us work ethic on a whole other level. We were all there from the beginning, and everybody was so sold on the idea of what we were doing. We were like, ‘Let’s dive into this headfirst!’”
Kerr warns Drew has pushed Portia too far—’How can we stop this momentum?’

These days, when Kerr’s not enjoying her summer vacation, she’s having a blast diving into Portia’s drama on General Hospital—and as Dr. Robinson hustles to protect her family, her career, and her marriage, Drew’s latest demand has pushed her too far.
“On a professional level, she’s just not this person,” Kerr tells Woman’s World. “So how can we stop this momentum?”
Portia’s makes a bold move that Drew won’t see coming on General Hospital next week… but that doesn’t mean it will work!
