Similar to Jenna, Steve Kazee is also an actor, having appeared in series such as Shameless and on stage in productions like Once—and it was actually after a 2012 show where he and Jenna crossed paths for the first time. Captivated by his performance, the duo met briefly outside the stage door, and years later, they connected on a more serious level after she had split from Channing Tatum.
“I had kind of come to terms with, ‘Okay, I need to accept that I need to start a new life.’ I had no idea what I was looking for, and I was not at all looking for any kind of relationship,” she shared in a conversation with People. “It was nothing I was looking for, but it was everything I needed if that makes sense.”

Jenna and Steve had their first child together, a son named Callum, in 2020—and it was while she was pregnant that her fiancé popped the question! While chatting with The Knot in 2021, Jenna revealed Steve’s elaborate plan that took place during her baby shower and included a song before asking her if she’d marry him.
“My daughter, Evie, knew it was happening—I still have no idea how she kept it a secret. She’s only seven! She and Steve had a whole thing and she came running out,” she shared with the publication. “We were all in tears. That moment was just really special, and there was a feeling in the air that day. Nothing in my life has been really traditional. Things have happened and there have been a lot of transitions. I like that we’re doing this our own way.”
