With Halloween getting spooktacularly close, it’s already looking a lot like Christmas for QVC’s newly crowned Mrs. Claus, Kathy Hilton—who was feeling jolly at the network’s Christmas in July event with Elton John and Martha Stewart and started decorating her own home in September. Here, the “friend” of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills talks to Woman’s World about what the holidays mean to her, shares how your whole family can literally open presents in her home this year, and even ends up shopping her own preview event with us.

Plus, we have everything you need to know about QVC’s “All Is Bright” campaign—including details about November’s IRL two-day Immersive Holiday House pop-up experience in New York and online TikTok event, which will be hosted by “The Queen of Christmas” and offer a chance to meet Kathy Claus and her fabulous and familiar Q50 elves.

Kathy Hilton’s already decking her halls!

On the latest episode of Your Splendid Spaces with Kathy Hilton, “The Potion for Your Halloween Porch,” the socialite and friend of RHOBH gets spooky. But inside her home, Hilton’s already decking the halls with a very different type of spirit.

“Right now, I have a bald staircase and all the rooms are bald, but my trees are all decorated,” Hilton cheers as lights twinkle around us at the Immersive Holiday House press preview. “We start every year by putting the garland up around openings—over doors, the staircase, fireplace mantels, all of that. I have somebody get on the ladder and put it up while I stand back and look. I can’t do both, and I am a control freak!”

After fluffing the trees, ensuring all the string lights are working, and getting them strung up, Hilton conducts a final check.

“You don’t want to have cord showing,” she explains. “I like it seamless and perfect.”

I just love this part of getting it all gorgeous and ready,” she adds, “and I will still be touching up and adding little things until the holiday.”

Starting this early means that Hilton doesn’t have any traditions involving visiting a Christmas tree lot.

“I don’t have any live trees,” she admits. “I like keeping them up so long, and all a sudden, they start hanging. Then the ornaments drop, and you hear ‘pch,’ the tinkling of them breaking. So it’s just easier, since I like it up for months.”

One tree’s been up even longer than that!

“A couple of years ago, I said, ‘You know what? This one tree, I’m not taking down, because I’m just going to have to lug it out of storage and organize all the stuff, again’” she explains. “Sounds crazy, but organizing everything takes a week in itself, right?

“I have pictures so we can recreate rooms, but this year, for the first time, I changed up my tree a bit in the family room,” she adds. “I collect Annalee dolls, some of which are quite big, and we added them right under the tree.”

As seen in the photos in this story, the QVC’s Mrs. Claus-crowning and preview event at the Beverly Hills Hotel was decorated in classic red, gold and white splendor, with ribbons woven into the trees.

“I like this color scheme, because you know what? It’s just a nice, elegant look. ” Hilton says. “And I’m not good with ribbon, but I like the way they did that and the garland. That’s very fresh and jolly!”

Hilton was so inspired that she took home a set of the tall, slim-lined gold trees on display to add to her own collection. (One of which is captured below, next to her “Get Ready with Me” beauty station.)

“I never would have thought I’d like that, but let me tell you something, doing the pair is so elegant—especially in an apartment, no matter how big it is,” she says. “You can put one on either side of the buffet and people can still enjoy themselves, have a drink, and not be bumping into each other. It’s great to be festive like that.”

While Hilton appreciates a classy look, she’s not against going overboard for the season.

“I love to do kids-type trees,” she says. “Where you’ve just got everything but the kitchen sink! The grandkids know that when they come to Kiki and Papa’s house, it’s a winter wonderland, and seeing it through the eyes of a child, you get to relive it yourself.”

That doesn’t mean little Lily-Grace, Teddy, Chasen, Milou, Caspian, Apollo, Phoenix and London get to help decorate.

“They’ll get together to do one tree for the playroom,” Hilton outlines. “And then I do have a few, little unbreakable, shatterproof ones and I see who you want to put those on so they can get involved, but they know the rest of the trees are just to look at. They’re works of art. I’ve even trained the cats and the dogs not to pull things off.”

With all the work she does to bring cheer to her home, the Queen of Christmas hosts her whole family, no matter what’s going on in their busy lives.

“We’re all together and the tradition that I’ve carried is making the holiday last,” she says. “We only open one gift on Christmas Eve, then we have a nice dinner, and then we wake up and I cook a really big breakfast, and we do more gifts.”

One’s carousels, and I love carousels for myself, but children really love it,” she teases. “And then the other’s blue and white and they are a print of my house, with my dogs and everything. Isn’t that so cute? A lot of people like to buy matching sets for the whole family and do Christmas cards or open gifts in them.”

So yes, just like we promised, you can take your family holiday photos in her Bel-Air home!
