Marie Osmond on Marriages, Love and Second Chances: ‘I Dated a Lot of People’
The mom of eight is quite famous for marrying one man twice—learn why she did that!
Marie Osmond is no stranger to the spotlight. Best known for her hit series The Donny & Marie Show (1976 to 1979), Donny & Marie (1998 to 2000) as well as her various live performances with her brother Donny, she truly is one of the most recognizable people in the country. But there is another thing the TV star is known for and that’s her many marriages and eight children. Below, we dive deep into who exactly Marie Osmond has dated and married throughout her career, and what she has to say about each of them. Keep scrolling for more.
Marie Osmond’s early relationships
Erik Estrada

Actor Erik Estrada did date Osmond, although no one knows when. Osmond confirmed their relationship after Andy Cohen asked her about it, to which she replied, “Yes, I dated a lot of people … we just never talked about it… He was a very nice guy.”
Estrada is 75 years old and lives in New York City with his wife, Nanette Mirkovic. He has three kids.
Andy Gibb

It is unclear when exactly Osmond and Andy Gibb dated, but since he appeared on the Donny & Marie show in 1978, it is believed that’s when the two began their affair.
“We had known each other a couple of years and were dating,” Osmond said before sharing how his problems with drugs and alcohol affected their relationship. “One night, he kept calling me and calling me. He was obviously not well. I probably could’ve done it better, but I just said, ‘We’re done.’
“It was something I should have done in person, but it was breaking my heart to see what he was doing to himself.”
Gibb died in 1988 from myocarditis—a disease which caused his heart muscles to inflame—and was briefly married to Kim Reeder from 1976 to 1978. He is survived by his one daughter, Peta.
Jeff Crayton
In 1979, Osmond dated a recently returned missionary named Jeff Crayton. They got engaged just a few months later, with Crayton proposing by smashing a banana cream pie in her face.
Sadly, the two never made it down the aisle, though, with Osmond saying, “We had doubts.”
“Marriage is a serious thing you don’t want to fool around with.”
Aside from his brief engagement to Osmond, Crayton has stayed out of the spotlight, and key details about him, including his age, current marital status and location, remain a mystery.
Brian Blosil: a marriage marked by joy and tragedy

Actor Brian Blosil met Osmond in October 1985 and married her a year later. They then went on to welcome seven children together—both biologically and through adoption—before splitting up in 1998 due to Osmond’s postpartum depression.
The two briefly got back together following that split, but eventually went their separate ways for good in 2007.
“Though our marriage is ending, we continue to have a very amicable relationship,” the two said in a joint statement in 2007. “Our marriage has always been a faithful one, and neither of us is assigning fault for the divorce.”
Six of the couple’s kids—Rachael, Matthew, Jessica, Brandon, Brianna and Abigail—are still alive, but their son Michael tragically took his own life in 2010. He was 18 at the time.
“So, my son who died, he was bullied,” Osmond said before revealing that she still has the texts sent to him. “I can tell you, honestly, I believe that that was a big component in him just feeling overwhelmed and that he didn’t fit in. I never took action against the three kids. I know who they are.”
Blosil is 72 years old and has never remarried.
Stephen Craig: the husband Marie Osmond married twice

Stephen Craig is the only man Osmond ever married twice.
Originally, the two tied the knot in 1982 when she was 22. They then welcomed their son Stephen less than a year later. Sooner rather than later the two began to have some trouble, which led to them divorcing in 1985.
“All of a sudden, I’m a single mom, and I don’t know how I’m going to pay my rent, let alone feed my kid,” Osmond said. “So I decided I had to get back to work.”
Several years—and a marriage later—Osmond and Craig reconnected in 2011 and eventually got married again.
“Stephen was getting married and we [realized] we can’t go to our son’s wedding and not be married,” the TV star said. “So we got married a few months before he did. He joked that he never thought it would happen, but it did!”
“The thing about a second marriage is that you realize things you thought were so important aren’t. I love being with my husband. He is the sweetest man I know. He lives to serve and really listens to people’s needs.”
The couple is still together, with Osmond revealing to First for Women that they “Work hard at our relationship, but we don’t have to be together 24/7.”
“I remarried my first husband and it’s been wonderful ever since to be with my best friend, to be with this person that loves you unconditionally. It’s not ‘Marie Osmond’ that he loves; it’s me that he loves. And there’s a comfort in that, there’s a safety in that, there’s a lot of fun in that.”
The two can often be found at various sporting events, hanging out with their grandkids or enjoying the outdoors.
