For more than six decades, Stevie Wonder has given the world unforgettable songs like “Superstition,” “Signed, Sealed, Delivered” and “Isn’t She Lovely.” But away from the recording studio and spotlight, the music legend has played another important role: Dad. Wonder is the father of nine children, born between 1975 and 2014, and several of them have followed him into the world of music.
The singer, songwriter, musician and record producer has been in the entertainment business since he was a child himself, signing with Motown Records at the age of 11 as Little Stevie Wonder. By the time he was 13, Wonder was topping the Billboard charts with the live version of his single “Fingertips,” the youngest performer to ever do so.
It wasn’t long before Wonder, born Stevland Hardaway Morris, was a successful adult artist, releasing numerous hit songs throughout his career. But while he was writing and singing, Wonder was becoming a father as well. Married three times to Syreeta Wright, Kai Millard Morris and Tomeeka Robyn Bracy, the musician has welcomed nine children with five women, all born between 1975 and 2014.
“I give a lot of credit to the mothers of my children,” Wonder once shared. “They’ve raised the children well. But I’m not one of those fathers who just sends money. I guide them as a father and talk to them as a friend. I always want my children to feel they can tell me anything.”

Aisha Zakia Morris, 51
Wonder, with then girlfriend Yolanda Simmons, welcomed the first of his children, daughter Aisha, on April 7, 1975. Not only was Aisha his first-born daughter but she was also the inspiration behind one of his most popular tracks, “Isn’t She Lovely,” in 1976.
“I remember writing ‘Isn’t She Lovely?’—I can almost cry right now thinking about it,” Wonder once shared. “The sound of my daughter Aisha splashing in the bathtub created a picture. That was emotion stuck in a moment, and that can never, ever be taken away.”
Although she primarily lived with her mother in New Jersey, Aisha was often around for Wonder’s major career moments, including his Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction in 1989 and his lifetime achievement award at the 1996 Grammys.
Aisha became a mother herself around 2000 when she welcomed her son, Miles, making Wonder a Pop Pop—his chosen term instead of grandpa. His daughter is also a singer, occasionally appearing on tracks with him. She later became the music director at the R&B radio station KJLH.
Keita Sawandi Morris, 49
Just two years later, Wonder welcomed his first son, Keita, with Simmons on April 17, 1977. Similar to his older sister, Keita grew up with their mother in New Jersey, but he still followed in his father’s footsteps. He started his own record label, Stay Gold, in the late 1990s.
Nowadays, Keita is a father to his own son, Asmar, and daughter Lula. and he is a DJ, producer, songwriter and designer.
Mumtaz Ekow Morris, 42
Born to Wonder and vocalist Melody McCully was his second son, Mumtaz, on October 13, 1983. Although singing and music didn’t come to Mumtaz as a child, it wasn’t long before he, too, was pursuing a musical path.
Spending most of his early life out of the spotlight, Mumtaz was initially involved in football before transitioning to singing. He explained in 2010, “The notes started sounding like they actually made sense, people stopped saying, ‘Turn that down,’ and I thought, ‘Maybe I can do this.’”
In 2001, he attended Norfolk State University where he studied business and entrepreneurship while continuing with his passion for music. Mumtaz eventually married and has since welcomed five children of his own. While he still pursues music on the side, even completing the backing vocals for one of his father’s songs, Mumtaz is currently an independent consultant.
Sophia Morris, 41
Wonder’s second daughter, Sophia, was born in July 1985, though the identity of her mother is unknown. Unlike her older siblings, Sophia was not in the spotlight during her childhood. In 2020, Sophia was a coordinator and producer for UNESCO’s World Day for African and Afrodescendant Culture event in San Jose, Costa Rica. Not long after, she was the producer for the Global Citizen Live event in L.A.
Kwame Morris, 38
Wonder’s fifth child and third son, Kwame, was born on August 6, 1988, though his mother is also unknown to the public. Kwame lived in Sydney Australia, where he was born, until age 12 when he relocated to L.A. He later attended Morehouse College in Atlanta, studying sociology with a concentration in media and art.
In 2016, Kwame transitioned to modeling, even appearing in Vogue Italia and working with Storm Model Management. A few years later, he developed the Yagan Stone Eyewear line and not long after became a father to his child, Kenzo, with his partner.
Kailand Morris, 25
In September 2001, Wonder and his second wife, Kai Millard, welcomed their first child together, son Kailand. He followed in the footsteps of both his mother and father, pursuing music and fashion. When he was young, Kailand would play drums on tour with his father, often performing during his song, “Superstition.”
But he also loved the fashion industry, attending different Fashion Weeks throughout the years. In 2020, he created a t-shirt design under his own fashion line, House of KOM, and all of the proceeds went to the Black Lives Matter movement. He followed that up with a second t-shirt collection, the proceeds of which also went to helping others.
But his passion for fashion didn’t stop with designing. Kailand has also worked as a model like his older brother, walking in the Dolce & Gabbana 2019 spring/summer show in Milan.
Mandla Kadjaly Carl Stevland Morris, 21
Wonder and Millard had a second son together, Mandla, born on May 13, 2005, who just so happens to share a birthday with the singer. Aside from being Stevie Wonder’s son, Mandla was in the spotlight from a young age, having competed in Dancing with the Stars: Juniors at age 13.
Mandla, now 21 years old, has appeared on the cover of ODDA magazine with his father and brother and even sang on Wonder’s track, “Where Is Our Love Song” with his siblings.
Zaiah Morris
Wonder and his current wife, Tomeeka Bracy, had their first child together sometime before 2014, though her birthdate is unknown. Not much is known about his eighth child, however she did join her siblings in singing on “Where Is Our Love Song” and performed with her father at his House Full of Toys Benefit Concert.
Nyah Morris, 9
Stevie Wonder’s youngest child and daughter, Nyah, was born in 2014. She, too, was featured on the same song of her father’s as her siblings in 2020.
