Celebrity Centenarians: Stars Who Are Living Their Best Lives Past 100
There is nothing more inspiring than living centenarians, and the oldest celebrities alive today are all the proof you need. From Kirk Douglas to Norman Lloyd, these beautiful famous faces show that it is indeed possible to live a long, happy, and fulfilling life — even in Hollywood.
A great reminder of the resiliency of the human spirit is Olivia de Havilland, who just turned 102 on July 1, 2018. The two-time Oscar winner played Melanie in Gone With the Wind, and she is the last surviving principle member of the cast. As you may recall, last year she received the special honor of damehood from Queen Elizabeth II, making her the oldest person to receive such a distinction. In a 2015 interview with Entertainment Weekly, she said, “So how do I feel about older age? Crazy about it! Wouldn’t trade it for anything!”
Of course, de Havilland is not the first celeb out there to reach triple digits, and she certainly will not be the last. As medicine continues to advance and people as a whole learn to take better care of their health and wellness, there’s never been a better time for all of us — famous or not — to make longevity our goal. Let’s take a moment to celebrate these fantastic, talented achievers — and their seriously impressive genes!
