The mansion has a pool, a gym and a guest suite—but the sale is steeped in family legal drama
Eleven months after Richard Simmons’s death, the late fitness star’s Los Angeles home is officially on the market. This news comes after it was reported that his housekeeper and longtime friend, Teresa Reveles, was living in the home even after her former boss died. Now that his estate is for sale, we look at how much it’s going for and take a look at the latest on his family’s legal troubles over his estate. Read on for more.
A look inside Richard Simmons’s home
On Wednesday, June 4, Realtor.com revealed that the Richard Simmons estate was officially on the market for $7 million. The house, which was built in 1937, has four bedrooms, five bathrooms and is over 4,000 square feet wide. It also has an outdoor pool, a double-sided fireplace, a gym and several living and dining areas.
The home also features an added maid suite for guests or house employees, and that section of the estate has its own entrance, laundry and pantry.

As of publication, there is no news on who in Simmons’s family decided to put the house on the market. It is also unclear whether or not Reveles left the estate, and if she did, the timing of that event remains unknown.
What we know about Teresa Reveles & Lenny Simmons’s legal feud
After Richard’s death on July 13, 2024, his brother Lenny and his housekeeper Reveles were named co-trustees of his estate. This caused a lot of drama within the family, as Reveles claimed that Lenny kept her out of Richard’s financial documents. She also claimed that his brother spent $567K of Richard’s money to get her removed as co-trustee, on top of the $277K Reveles said Lenny already spent to have security officers patrol the house while she was living there.
Lenny denied these claims, telling People in February, “Teresa’s attorney has filed petition after petition with the courts. We are obligated to provide answers to these court documents, which is costing the estate a monumental amount of legal fees. I have requested that a neutral fiduciary (3rd party) be appointed by the court in cases where Teresa and I disagree on the administration of the estate to reduce legal fees.”

“We do have 24-hour armed security because of several incidents of squatters attempting to establish residency in Richard’s home, as well as perpetrators jumping the fence in the middle of the night to gain access. There was even a locksmith that showed up three weeks after Dicky [Richard] passed to change the locks because ‘We were hired because this guy said he inherited the house from Richard!’ Security is a necessary expense until the home is sold.”
Since that statement was released, both Lenny and Reveles have remained rather tight-lipped about their legal troubles. They have also not publicly commented on how they feel about Richard’s home being on the market, and it is unclear at this time which one of them will receive the money from the house once it’s sold.
