1. Grace Kelly married Prince Rainier.

On April 18, 1956, actor Grace Kelly married Prince Rainier of Monaco in “The Wedding of the Century.” It was an event so spectacular we still talk about it, 66 years later!

2. Paul Revere took a midnight ride.

Renowned silversmith Paul Revere made history on April 18, 1775 when he rode on horseback into the Boston area to warn residents of an imminent British attack. The American Revolution began one day later, on April 19.

3. Cadbury Creme Eggs entered the market.

Though the origins of the Cadbury Creme Egg started in the 19th century, the official brand is a bit younger than that! The Easter staple was introduced in 1963 as “Fry’s Creme Eggs”, but rebranded with the official Cadbury name in 1971. We’ll remember that as we dig into our chocolate eggs and bunnies this Easter.

This year, more than 500 million will be made!

4. ‘ABC’ by the Jackson 5 became a hit.

Feeling old yet? The hit single ABC by the Jackson 5 started rising up the Billboard charts this week in 1970. By April 25, it hit No. 1, beating out Let it Be by the Beatles. What a feat!

5. ‘Starsky & Hutch’ premiered on TV.

This week in history, ABC announced that Starsky & Hutch would premiere on April 30, 1975. It didn’t take long for America to fall in love with Paul Michael Glaser and David Soul! The show lasted for four seasons, and the last episode aired in 1979.
