When Teen Son Refused to Take Out Trash, Genius Mom Taught Him a Lesson

Westminster College student Connor Cox was so excited to receive a package in the mail from his mom at school. He was convinced that it must be a care package full of goodies.

Connor said, “I was thrilled, because it’s like Christmas when you get mail from family when you’re in college.”

But it turned out to be something else entirely.

Rather than dorm room necessities and sweet treats, the box was full of used tissues, a fruit snack package, and old dryer sheets. Essentially, it was a box full of trash.

His trash.

As it turned out, his mom Terri decided to send him the trash that he was too lazy to take out while visiting home for the holidays. And apparently, he and his mom had already made an agreement that he would help with trash and other chores while he was home.

Connor said, “I guess I thought I could get away with it all and have her clean it up, but she showed me otherwise.”

Terri couldn’t agree more.

“I have raised and taught Connor better than this, and his actions deserve consequences—even if they are humorous,” she said.

Thankfully, mom and son were both able to find a way to laugh about it afterward.
