June Lockhart: Take a Look At These Photos of the Old Hollywood Actress in the Early Days of Her Career
See the star of 'Lassie,' 'Lost in Space' and beyond in her early days
At 99 years old, it’s safe to say that June Lockhart has enjoyed a long and enduring career. The New York born actress, who has enjoyed success on both the big screen, small screen and the stage is perhaps best known for her roles in series throughout the fifties and sixties, yet she was making a name for herself even before her more celebrated parts.
While fame first came her way because of her stage work, her resume in the early days of her career was filled to the brim, making her on-screen debut in 1938’s A Christmas Carol. In its wake came All This, and Heaven Too (1940), Adam Had Four Sons (1941), Sergeant New York (1941), Miss Annie Rooney (1942) and many more before foraying into TV, taking on numerous guest roles throughout the 50s. However, it was the part she brought to life in Lassie beginning in 1958 that we remember her by.
After Lassie, she would go on to play Dr. Janet Craig in Petticoat Junction, as well as Maureen Robinson in Lost in Space. While these days she’s largely out of the limelight, let’s take a look at June Lockhart and her days as a young actress.
