‘Love, Rosie’ (2014)

This best friends-to-lovers flick is the perfect watch for Valentine’s Day. Alex (Sam Claflin) and Rosie (Lily Collins) have been best friends since the start and are there for each other through thick and thin: awkward teen years, prom dates and first loves included. But when their lives diverge after high school, their friendship is put to the test and so are their feelings for one another.

Love, Rosie follows the classic will-they-won’t-they storyline as Rosie and Alex grow up and grow apart, falling in love with other people but also never truly getting over each other. But can they find their way back together after so many years?

‘Forever My Girl’ (2018)

Liam (Alex Roe) and Josie (Jessica Rothe) were in love and about to tie the knot when Liam’s success as a country artist got in the way and he fled town, leaving Josie behind. Although he’s never gotten over his former love, Alex has never returned to his hometown until he’s forced to do so after the death of his best friend. Now, Alex has to deal with the consequences of his actions and face Josie again after a decade away.

‘Dear John’ (2010)

Nicholas Sparks always nails a romance movie, and Dear John is no exception. When soldier John (Channing Tatum) meets college student Savannah (Amanda Seyfried), they fall into a deep love. But when John gets deployed, the two of them keep in touch through letters and only meet up in person a few times. Follow John and Savannah’s love story as they attempt to make their relationship work.

‘Safe Haven’ (2013)

Yet another Nicholas Sparks film and yet another memorable romance. Katie (Julianne Hough) moves to a small town to make a new life for herself, but soon meets and falls for widowed father Alex (Josh Duhamel). With the help of Alex and his children, Katie begins to love and trust again, but when someone from her past shows up, they threaten her future with Alex and the new town she fell in love with.

‘Bride Wars’ (2009)

If you’re interested in a bit of comedy for the upcoming holiday, check out Bride Wars. Anne Hathaway and Kate Hudson portray best friends Emma and Liv who are both on the verge of getting married. And while they’d planned to take every step together, an error at the wedding venue results in their weddings being booked for the same day at the same time. Now Emma and Liv are at each other’s throats trying to achieve the most perfect wedding day, with their friendship hanging in the balance.

’10 Things I Hate About You’ (1999)

Kat Stratford (Julia Stiles) has a rough exterior as opposed to her bubbly younger sister, Bianca (Larisa Oleynik), though they’re often compared to one another by their overprotective father (actor name). So, when Bianca decides she wants to date but knows she can’t unless her older sister does, she and some friends hatch a plan to pay loner Patrick (Heath Ledger) to take out her sister. Although unbeknownst to Kat, she begins to fall for Patrick and his charm while he is doing it all for a couple extra bucks — or is he?

‘Endless Love’ (2014)

Shy but privileged teen Jade Butterfield (Gabriella Wilde) meets working-class David (Alex Pettyfer) following their high school graduation, and falls madly in love. But when David’s troubled past is revealed to Jade and her family, her father does everything possible to keep the two apart while David and Jade do everything they can to stay together.
