Major Car Recalls: Toyota, Honda, Subaru & Acura—See If Your Vehicle Is Affected
Airbags, engines & cameras—major car brands recall thousands of vehicles. Is yours on the list?
92% of American households own at least one car, using it for errands, trips, and everyday transportation. This statistic makes a recent recall across several well-known car brands even more worrisome for everyday drivers. Read on to see if your vehicle is impacted.
Airbag issues lead to recalls on Toyota and Lexus vehicles

Toyota has issued a recall for over 1,700 of its vehicles due to airbag deployment issues. The recall also impacts Lexus models, as Toyota owns the luxury brand.
This recall stems from issues related to previous repair work.
According to a report from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), “An electrical connection inside the steering column’s spiral cable assembly may be insufficiently welded, causing the connection to separate and deactivate the driver’s airbag.”
Owners of the affected vehicles are urged to visit their dealers, who will perform the necessary repairs at no cost. Notification letters are expected to be sent out by March 30.
Recalled Toyota vehicles include the following 2023 models:
- Corolla
- Corolla Cross
- Corolla Cross Hybrid
- Highlander
- Highlander Hybrid
- Tacoma
Recalled Lexus vehicles include the following:
- 2023 RX350
- 2023-2024 NX250
- 2023 NX350
Honda recalls vehicles over potential software glitch

Nearly 300,000 Honda vehicles were recalled because a programming issue could cause the engines to stall.
The recall report details that, “sudden changes in the throttle opening could cause the MIL to
illuminate and/or the engine to lose drive power, hesitate and/or stall.”
An engine stall increases the risk of crashes, injuries and long-term vehicle damage.
The recall affects specific models, including the 2022-2025 Acura MDX Type-S, 2023-2025 Honda Pilot, and 2021-2025 Acura TLX Type-S.
Dealers will reprogram the units at no cost. Notification letters are expected to be sent by March 17.
Subaru recalls Foresters due to wheel-related issues

Due to incorrectly built tires, Subaru is recalling select 2025 Forester SUVs. This recall affects 20,366 Forester vehicles.
The NHTSA report states that 18-inch aluminum alloy wheels, used on the recalled vehicles, may not attach properly due to “an incorrectly specified lug seat surface,” the result of a production defect.
If you think your vehicle has been affected, Subaru retailers will inspect all four wheels and replace any defective wheel(s).
Acura recalls vehicles over rearview camera issues

More than 9,000 2025 Acura MDX SUVs have been recalled due to a programming issue that causes the rearview camera display to go blank when the vehicle is in reverse.
“When the center information display unit attempts to change out of the reverse camera image, the unit mistakenly interprets the signal as an internal error, resulting in a black screen, despite shifting the transmission back into reverse,” the report says.
To get defective units repaired or replaced for free, and ensure your safety, contact your dealership. And if you already paid for any repairs out-of-pocket, ask your dealer since you may be eligible for a reimbursement.
