Las Vegas has officially called an Uno Reverse! That’s right. Sin City recently announced that it would be bringing the beloved card game Uno to the tables, allowing people to showcase their skills for money for the first time ever. We have everything you need to know about Uno’s arrival in Vegas, including whether it’s coming to other casinos across the country, below!

Yes, Uno is now a Las Vegas casino game

It was recently announced that Palms Casino Resort in Las Vegas, would be adding a limited-time Uno Social Club to its 95,000-square-foot building. But there’s a catch: It’s only open to one winner and their guest from Friday, July 18, to Sunday, July 20, and this person was decided by a TikTok video challenge that began in May. Their name has yet to be announced.

“We created Uno Social Clubs to reimagine what game night can be—bringing people together for real-world fun, connection, and a bit of friendly competition,” Ray Adler, Vice President and Global Head of Games at Mattel said in a press release obtained by Woman’s World. “The Uno Social Club in Las Vegas is just the beginning, and we’re excited to see how these new experiences inspire players to show up, play hard, and make unforgettable memories.”

Along with being granted access to the Uno card table, the winner also has the chance to play at one of Uno’s other fun tables. These include an Uno Golf, an Uno Teams table and an Uno Show ’em No Mercy table—a fierce twist on the original.

Will UNO come to casinos in other parts of the U.S.?

If you weren’t chosen to attend the opening of Palms Casino Resort’s Uno Social Club, don’t worry! The hotel has plans to create “pop-ups across the country later this year, with experiences in bars and venues in major U.S. cities,” reads the press release. “Each event will transform everyday hotspots into the ultimate game night destination with Uno-themed drink menus, tournament-style play, photo moments and more.”

As of publication, there is no news on which cities the Uno Social Club will be popping up in, and there is no word on whether the original in Las Vegas will remain open after the guests check out on Sunday, July 20.

A look back at the history of Uno and its wildest variants

UNO was invented in 1971 by Merlin “Merle” Robbins after he and his son got into an argument over the rules of Crazy Eights. Mattel then bought the game in 1992 and since then, UNO has become one of the most played card games across the country, with over 150 million decks sold.

Mattel, the games owner, added spinoffs like Uno Flip!, Uno Dare, Uno Attack, Uno All Wild, Uno Stacko and Uno Junior to stores all over the country in the past couple of years. The company also launched several different “themed” decks over the years for things like Marvel, Disney and Netflix’s Stranger Things
