Key Takeaways

  • Hallmark is currently running the Merriest Christmas Towns Contest.
  • Participants can enter their town in the hopes of having it featured in a Hallmark movie.
  • Share what makes your town so special during the holiday season in your entry.

Hallmark movies have become beloved in the television sphere, especially during the holidays, due to their heartwarming, wholesome and touching tales of love and human connection. In addition to the stories themselves, the actors and actresses who make this network what it is have cultivated cult followings, with actors and actresses like Lacey Chabert, Andrew Walker and beyond building loyal fan bases thanks to their films on Hallmark. However, there’s one more detail that makes these movies so special, and that’s the settings in which they take place.

When it comes to holiday movies on the Hallmark Channel, you can always count on a cozy romance unfolding against the backdrop of a quaint, suburban town complete with kind and welcoming townsfolk, adorable storefronts and a sense of community that, in today’s day and age, is often hard to come by. Are you lucky enough to live in a place like this? Well, now’s your chance to give your town the Hallmark treatment thanks to the Hallmark Merriest Christmas Towns Contest! Here, read all about how you can submit your city for a chance to be featured in a Hallmark movie!

Enter your town in the Hallmark Merriest Christmas Towns Contest!

Think your hometown celebrates the holidays in a special way? Enter it in the Hallmark Merriest Christmas Towns Contest! The process is straightforward enough, but Hallmark is urging participants to get creative with their submissions! First, start by visiting the Hallmark Merriest Christmas Towns Contest website. Enter the details of your submission, including your name, email and the name of the town you’re rallying for, and from there, sell your city! Start by writing a letter describing the things that make your town so special.

Have an annual Christmas parade your community gathers for each season? Explain it in detail! Do you and your neighbors come together for a unique tradition or celebration? Share that as well. In addition to the letter, which can be up to 500 words, you’re also urged to include any supplemental details that might illustrate the energy within your streets.

On the contest’s website, you can share up to three photos and/or one video that highlights what makes your home so special. And it doesn’t have to just be about looks and aesthetics! Hallmark movies are all about people and human connection, and if your community is full of kind and generous folks who embody the spirit of the holiday season, don’t forget to highlight them as well.

Think your town can win it all? If it does, it will be featured as the setting of a Hallmark movie, and finalists will also be named an Official Hallmark Christmas Town.

Next time you cozy up on your couch and throw on a Christmas movie, you might just see your humble home on the screen! Folks have until August 10 to complete their submission. The top finalists will then enter the public voting phase from August 14 to September 4.
