Is This the Reason Why Meghan and Harry are Choosing to Hide Archie’s Face?

When the world first glimpsed Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s brand new baby Archie, it would be safe to say the masses collectively melted. Indeed the doting new parents’ first official photo call couldn’t have been more joy-filled as the world took in the perfection of the brand new family of three. And while the event itself was undoubtedly one of our favorite royal moments to date, there was one small snag that left us a little let down — we didn’t get a proper look at little Archie’s face!

That being said, we did get to see a sliver of his heavenly little noggin after an onlooker in the press-pack politely asked Harry to turn the bub slightly so we could catch a proper glimpse.

We were grateful for it, because Harry’s slight movement to reveal the newborn, who was peacefully sleeping in his arms, was enough to keep us enamored for the foreseeable future.

But it might be high time to admit that the aforementioned foreseeable future is coming to an end, because we seriously can’t wait to see more of baby Archie and figure out exactly who he looks most like.

And it seems Meghan and Harry are well aware of our desire to see more of Archie. Since that first photoshoot, the pair have offered two more glimpses of the newborn. The first picture surfaced on Mother’s Day, where Meghan’s hands were pictured holding Archie’s feet over a bed of Forget-Me-Nots.

Look, it was no face, but at that stage we were happy with any additional glimpse of the gorgeous wee tyke.

A few weeks later, Meghan and Harry dropped another pic that sent the internet wild — an adorable snap of Archie’s face from his button-nose and upwards as he clung to his papa Harry’s finger. The picture, shared by the couple’s Instagram page @SussexRoyal for Father’s Day, was the best and clearest look we’ve had of Archie yet.

But alas, still we await the glorious moment we get to see Archie’s face in full — and there could be a very intriguing reason as to why. According to a parenting expert who spoke to UK newspaper The Express, Meghan and Harry’s apparent no-face stance is actually a lot more relatable than you’d think.

“All parents have the right to request some anonymity for their child if they so wish and spend the first part of their baby’s life bonding and learning more about them,” Victoria Jennings, founder of Bloom baby classes told the publication.

Indeed it would make sense for Meghan and Harry to keep some parts of their new life with baby Archie private from the public eye, especially given they are first-time parents.

Jennings added that Meghan and Harry were fully within their rights to protect the anonymity of baby Archie.

“One could argue that all children should be allowed anonymity and, should Meghan and Harry prefer to keep baby Archie out of the spotlight, then their wishes should be respected,” she explained. “At the end of the day, there is no right or wrong in parenting and no-one should be judged for wanting the best for their child.”

This protective instinct is one that is quite relatable among parents, so we certainly can’t blame the Sussexes for keeping quiet on some parts of baby Archie’s life.

The clarity of baby Archie’s appearance as opposed to how much we saw each of the Cambridge children when Kate Middleton and Prince William debuted them to the world is surprisingly different.

Kate famously stepped out from the hospital wing she gave birth in mere hours after welcoming her children to show them off to the world — a far cry from the private photo shoot initiated by Meghan and Harry several days after they welcomed their son.

According to Jennings, there could be an intriguing reason as to why the two royal women chose vastly different routes to debut their children.

Kate, who is a keen photographer, clearly holds the power of an image dear. Victoria explained, “Kate’s love of photography has also played an active part in the images shared of her children as her hobby of capturing those precious moments clearly shows and being the mom behind the camera allows her to capture those moments so naturally.”

That being said, it’s likely we’ll soon get a proper glimpse of Archie at his impending christening, which is set to take place in early July. Not only that, but we’ll also get to see Meghan once again — a rare occurrence these days as she takes time out from the public eye on her official maternity leave.

We’ll be waiting in anticipation for the next drop of pics!
