Two Must-See HGTV Holiday Shows This Weekend: Inside the White House and Hoarder Holidays!
From White House tours to holiday hoarders, HGTV's festive shows have something for everyone
It’s officially the holiday season, and no one is as prone to hang up the lights and decorate the Christmas tree than Home & Garden Television (HGTV). From special exclusive tours inside the White House to holidays for hoarders, the home renovation channel has something for everyone. Below, we share the new HGTV holiday shows to stream this year, all of which are guaranteed to make you feel holly and jolly.
‘Hoarding for the Holidays’
Hoarding for the Holidays is a series that focuses on people who–you guessed it—hoard holiday decor. The show not only reveals what they have, but also takes viewers inside the hoarders’ everyday lives, highlighting just how their obsession with decor came to be.
“It was an absolutely amazing experience to be a part of the crew, and production was extremely supportive and helpful. I was very happy with how they filmed my decorations and showed people what someone who is passionate about collecting decorations and preserving Christmas history is like,” star Nicholas Antidormi told TV Insider. “I use nearly all of my decorations once a year for people to come and enjoy. I do not want to ‘hoard’ things and never let anyone enjoy it and experience the magic it holds. For me, I will always strive to display as much as I can but I’m one person running a two-acre display by myself, so I don’t get to put everything out. My display is forever changing year after year, and there is always something new to feast your eyes on when you come to Saint Nick’s Display.”
“I want people to know how much time and dedication I put into my display and acquiring all of my decorations. It’s what I love to do, and it’s something I enjoy sharing with people. Hopefully I can inspire others to go for their passions in life and to never give up,” he continued. “I’m happy to finally be able to share some of my life with a larger audience that I never would have imagined possible for my younger self just starting out. Being a ‘holiday hoarder’ may very well have been the best thing in my life, and I will never forget the amazing time I had working with everyone.”
Hoarding for the Holidays is available to stream on HBO Max.
‘White House Christmas’
Every year, the White House gets decorated for Christmas and in the returning HGTV show White House Christmas 2025, viewers will get an inside look at how exactly that happens.
“The constant movement has taught me that home is not merely a physical space; rather, it is the warmth and comfort I carry within, regardless of my surroundings,” First Lady Melania Trump, who is in charge of decorating the White House for Christmas, said in a statement earlier this month. “This Christmas, let’s celebrate the love we hold within ourselves, and share it with the world around us. After all, wherever we are, we can create a home filled with grace, radiance and endless possibilities.”
White House Christmas 2025 premieres Sunday, December 14 at 6 pm central time on HGTV. It will also be available for streaming the next day on HBO Max and discovery+.
But if you can’t wait that long though, White House Christmas 2024 is available to stream on HGTV Go. In that show, Drew and Jonathan Scott team up with former First Lady Jill Biden to decorate the historic residence of the president.
“What I think of this time of year: ‘A Season of Peace and Light,’” Dr. Biden said in a statement in 2024. “For Joe and for me, these are the final holidays at the White House. Standing with all of you, I remember the first time we walked across this threshold right over here on Inauguration Day, and the gravitational pull of history guided us forward, wrapping us in the centuries of stories that live here in this house.”
