Meet the New Family Joining the ‘Mountain Men’ Cast—and the Fan-Favorite Star Who May Say Goodbye
From an Alaska bush pilot to a family with 3 kids—meet the new and returning cast!
Why enjoy 21st century technology like cell phones, televisions and central air conditioning when you can tough it out in the wilderness—well, at least that’s what the cast of Mountain Men believe. The reality show follows people who have given up a modern life and left it all behind for a more simplistic way of living, even if that means being surrounded by dangerous animals and potential natural disasters everyday—and it’s coming back for another season next month.
Find out which stars will be returning to the rugged reality show for Season 14 in September and who might be enjoying their last hurrah on the series.
Who’s returning for ‘Mountain Men’ Season 14?
Tom Oar, who began his journey on Mountain Men when the show first aired in 2012, is living his days in a hand-built log cabin in Montana’s Yaak Valley, along with his wife Nancy. While Oar has been a main cast member for over 12 years, the 14th season might be this Mountain Man’s last.
“For 81-year-old icon Tom Oar, this season could mark the moment he decides whether to keep going or hand off the torch,” the Season 14 description shares. “Legacies hang in the balance as each mountain man confronts a defining crossroads.”
While Oar has no intention of leaving the home he and his wife created in Montana, he may be pulling back from his starring role to begin a new journey: retirement.
Marty Meierotto, who also joined the cast in the beginning, will continue to appear on the series, along with his wife Dominique and daughter Noah. Meierotto is a trapper and bush pilot who has lived in the Alaska Bush for decades. He will also be guiding his daughter through a bush plane landing this season.
Other returning cast members include Mike Horstman, who lives on Alaska’s Kodiak Island, Bret Bohn and Ivy O’Guinn, and Lauro and Neil.
Meet the new family joining ‘Mountain Men’
As you gear up to see Oar in his final season of Mountain Men, you can also expect to see a few new faces on the series for an additional storyline. Joining the cast are Chance and Soraya Painter, who live on a remote Alaskan property along with their three young sons. Although the couple is still only in their 20s, they will be taking on the challenge of leading an off-the-grid lifestyle.
As you enjoy following storylines, old and new, you can be sure there will still be unpredictability, unexpected journeys and no 21st-century technology.
You can watch the new season of Mountain Men starting September 3 at 8 p.m. ET on the History Channel.
