‘Wheel of Fortune’ Contestant’s Hilarious Sausage Guess Goes Viral—Watch the Laugh-Out-Loud Clip!
The internet and even a sausage company are loving this viral ‘Wheel of Fortune’ fail!
“I’d like to buy a sausage, Pat” is not something one normally hears during an episode of Wheel of Fortune, but that is exactly what happened on Monday, November 11. A contest named Will Jordan hilariously “missolved” a puzzle, and now the internet is having a field day over it. Keep reading to learn what the puzzle was supposed to say and what Jordan decided to answer with instead.
The viral sausage guess that has fans cracking up
During Monday’s special Veteran’s Day episode of the popular game show, Jordan decided to take a chance and complete the already full puzzle that read “___E _OURSE_F A ROUN_ OF A___AUSE” after buying three U’s.
And while the answer was supposed to read “Give yourself a round of applause,” Jordan decided to give the phrase “Treat yourself a round of sausage” a shot.
Clearly, his answer was very incorrect, but it quickly made the internet—and host Ryan Seacrest—fall in love with him.
Seacrest even told Jordan after the puzzle had been solved that he “Kind of like yours better…That sounds better than just clapping right now.”
The puzzle was then solved by Jordan’s fellow competitor, Kitina Thomas.
After the show, Jordan sat down with Maggie Sajak, the game show’s social correspondent and daughter of former host Pat Sajak, to explain what happened.
“I tell you, when the lights are on, and you know, the stars and Ryan Seacrest, Vanna White … I just went blank,” the contest said. “But if your dad [Pat Sejack], in retirement, is watching this show, maybe cracks a beer and gets a laugh, it was worth it.”
Maggie then promised Jordan that she would “make sure that we tune in that night.”
Jordan is originally from Connecticut and works at the Rocky Hill Police Department as a school resource officer. Before that, he served as a member of the United States Coast Guard.
“I’m sure I’m gonna have sausages in my locker and police car when I get back,” Jordan joked. “So we’ll try and have some fun with that.”
Sadly, Jordan did not win his round of Wheel of Fortune, but he did walk away with a cue card that Maggie and Seacrest signed. It was made out to his entire family.
What the internet is saying about the sausage puzzle fail
Naturally, Jordan’s guessing fail has gone viral on social media and, with people writing, “Will’s entire life led him to saying ‘Treat yourself a round of sausage’ on Wheel of Fortune” and “That line from Will on Wheel of Fortune was absolutely iconic. Moments like these are why we watch.”
The very famous Wheel of Fortune fan account WheelRob also decided to join in on the fun saying “I’ve always been jealous of any of y’all who are able to Treat Yourself a Round of Sausage almost every day.
It even caught the attention of the Johnsonville Sausage Company, who decided to use his “missolve” as a way to promote kindness.
“Will’s got us inspired,” the company wrote on X (formally known as Twitter) “It’s World Kindness Day tomorrow. Post a kind act you’ve done or observed with #KeepTheInternetJuicy and we’ll treat yourself a round of sausage.”
