‘Yellowstone’ Dads: See Your Favorite Cowboys With Their Adorable Kids

Yellowstone and its spinoffs are full of powerful patriarchs and doting dads, from Kevin Costner’s John Dutton and Luke Grimes’ Kayce to Tim McGraw’s James Dutton. But what about off-screen?

Fans might be surprised to learn that some of their favorite characters from the Yellowstone cinematic universe have families of their own!

Here, take a look at these real-life dads from Yellowstone, 1923 and 1883.

Kevin Costner — Yellowstone dads

Costner is at the forefront of the Yellowstone universe as the original Dutton patriarch brought to our screens. While on-screen he’s a father to three, off-screen, the 69-year-old actor has seven kids of his own.

There’s Annie, 40, Lily, 37, Joe, 36, Liam, 26, Cayden Wyatt, 17, Hayes Logan, 15 and Grace Avery, 14.

“You’ve got to get down on the ground and play with them,” he told PEOPLE in 2022. “And you teach them to be independent — and the sad part about that is they become that. I’m like any other parent: I’m trying to figure it out.”

Cole Hauser

Cole Hauser, known for bringing to life the beloved character of Rip Wheeler on Yellowstone, has given us a glimpse of fatherhood on-screen with the way he took young Carter under his wing — and the actor certainly has gotten practice in off-screen as well.

Hauser is dad to sons Ryland, Colt and daughter Steely Rose.

Wes Bentley — Yellowstone dads

Wes Bentley, who plays controversial Dutton son Jamie, recently welcomed his first child in the series. Off-screen, he is a dad to two of his own children, a son named Charles and a daughter named Brooklyn.

While he and wife Jacqui Swedberg have kept their kids out of the limelight, Bentley enjoys being a family man!

Tim McGraw

Tim McGraw, who plays James Dillard Dutton in 1883, alongside his wife, country singer Faith Hill, is a proud dad to three lovely daughters: Grace, Maggie and Audrey.

“It’s inspiring to me to watch them go out on their own and do the things they do,” McGraw told PEOPLE in 2021. “We’re raised three strong, independent, strong-minded young women. And what I’m most grateful for is just how normal our kids are and how grounded they are and how much they respect themselves and other people. It makes me feel like we’ve done a pretty decent job, especially Mom.”

Sam Elliott

Sam Elliott took on the part of Shea Brennan in the Yellowstone prequel 1883. The famous actor, known for his one-of-a-kind ‘stache, is dad to daughter Cleo Rose Elliott.

Harrison Ford

Harrison Ford, who has brought to life the character of Jacob Dutton in 1923, has five children of his own off-screen: Benjamin, 57, Willard, 55, Malcolm, 36, Georgia, 33 and Liam, 22, Calista Flockhart’s son whom he adopted as his own.
