From one of our favorite content creators Rebecca Chobat, aka Dollar Tree Dinners, this recipe was a viral sensation last year for good reason. It packs all the yumminess of Thanksgiving into one gently priced casserole, and it’s perfect if you’re truly strapped for cash—or if you simply want traditional flavors without all the leftovers.
Ingredients
- 1 package Idahoan Foods Original Mashed potatoes
• 1 can French-style green beans, drained
• 2 cans of turkey, drained, broth reserved (you can substitute chicken)
• 1 packet roasted turkey gravy mix
• 1 box turkey stuffing mix $1.25
• 1 small package dried cranberries, soaked in water to rehydrate
• 1 quart milk
• 1 small package margarine
• 1 can chicken broth
Instructions:
- Prepare potatoes according to package instructions, but use chicken broth to replace 1 cup of the water called for. Season with salt and pepper. Spread on bottom of a casserole dish or 8-inch square pan.
- Spread green beans evenly over potato layer.
- Shred turkey with a fork and spread evenly over green bean layer.
- Prepare gravy per package instructions, but use broth saved from the turkey to replace some of the water called for. Spread gravy evenly over turkey layer.
- Prepare stuffing mix according to package directions, using remaining chicken broth in place of some of the water called for. Fold rehydrated cranberries into the stuffing. Spread stuffing on top of gravy layer.
- Top with 6-8 pats of margarine spread evenly over the casserole. Bake at 400ºF until edges are bubbly and stuffing is golden brown, about 30 minutes. Let sit for 5-10 minutes before serving.
