‘Tis the season to embrace all things spooky! Halloween is one of the most popular holidays for both kids and adults alike to have a little sugar-fueled fun. Whether you go all-out with your decor and costumes, or just slap on a Halloween-themed mask before heading out, everyone can get a kick out of the festivities. 

Some people like to embrace the scary side of the holiday with bloody costumes and trips to haunted houses. While we get why they find it exciting to have their spines chilled with fear, we prefer to have our funny bones tickled. So we to a look back at some old-school Halloween photos to get in the silly spirit! 

From wholesome throwbacks that remind us of our own childhood to snaps of some seriously impressive holiday dedication, each pic makes us even more excited to celebrate with our friends and family this year. We were even able to find some photos that go way, way back — all the way to the 1800s! Did you know the classic party game of bobbing for apples has a surprisingly long history behind it?
