‘Tis the season for holiday festivities! Whether you’re traveling or simply exploring near home, there are holiday markets abound this time of year, and strolling through them is a great way to boost your festive spirit! Here are a few of our favorite winter wonderlands open through the holiday season, and be sure to visit each website for up-to-date details on days, hours and ticket information.

Bank of America Winter Village at Bryant Park

This one may seem a bit obvious, but if you’re local to or visiting New York City, you can truly spend hours at this iconic market. One of the top items on your list might be to ice skate, but that’s not nearly all. You can also dine and drink in your own private heated igloo with views of the rink and decorated Christmas tree, sit rinkside and enjoy festive food and drinks at The Lodge, shop the European-inspired open-air market featuring creations by artists from New York and around the globe, and have your pick of everything from artisanal hot chocolate to pastries, churros, s’mores, pickles, babka, gnocchi, cheesesteaks, chestnuts and so much more.

Cambria Christmas Market

Lights, lights and more lights! California’s Cambria Christmas Market features 3 million sparkling Christmas lights, German-inspired delicacies and an artisan vendor market. You can check out a meet-and-greet with Santa himself, take a train ride, warm up by a fire pit, listen to live music and take in the festive Christmas displays.

Texas Christkindl Market

Arlington’s European-style Christmas market is home to shops filled with handcrafted products, including exclusive Käthe Wohlfahrt merchandise straight from Germany’s Rothenburg ob der Tauber Christmas Village. Plus, lace up your skates and hit the rink, visit with St. Nikolaus, eat, drink and be merry (yes, there will be Schnitzel) against a backdrop of festive live entertainment.

Christmas Village in Baltimore

The Christmas Village at Baltimore’s Inner Harbor is inspired by Nuremberg’s historic 16th-century Christkindlesmarkt. The market includes more than 60 vendors,  thousands of bright lights, a 30-foot-tall, sparkling wooden Glühwein Pyramid, a traditional German mulled wine tower, indoor and outdoor shops, a Carousel and Ferris Wheel, heated tent and beer garden. There’s no shortage of traditional fare either, from the gooey goodness of freshly melted Alpine cheese to freshly grilled and smoked bratwurst.

DowntownDC Holiday Market

At downtown Washington D.C.’s annual celebration, browse unique apparel and accessories, artwork, bath beauty products, candles, home decor, imported crafts, toys, games and more. Pause for a bite at a food truck, Baked Cheese Haus, waffle creations or craft barbecue.

Savannah Christmas Market

Southern hospitality meets the holidays at Georgia’s Savannah Christmas Market. The European-style outdoor holiday market includes live performances, photos with Santa, a variety of holiday-themed food and drink options and more. Plus, this year marks the second annual Festival of Trees, which features a forest of dazzling Christmas trees and supports local businesses.

Kerstmarkt

In Holland, Michigan, this Christmas market fully embraces Dutch heritage, and over 30 vendors rotate each weekend to ensure a different experience at each market. There will be dog sled demonstrations, handbell concerts, appearances from Santa and Mrs. Claus, Sinterklaas, the Dickens Carolers and other musical guests. And of course, no holiday market is complete without European delights and a hot chocolate bar!

Christkindlmarkt Bethlehem

This Pennsylvania Christmas market invites guests to shop culinary treats, personalized holiday ornaments, nutcrackers and collectibles direct from Germany, jewelry, home decor and much more. As you take in the sounds of live Christmas music all around ill up on a spread of German treats like strudel, German roasted almonds, Mac and Cheese, poutine and potato pancakes to name a mere few.

Denver Christkindlmarket

You’ll find authentic German holiday traditions in the heart of Denver, Colorado. Meet St. Nikolaus, Krampus and Christkind—the historic European Christmas gift-bringer! Enjoy German mulled wine, Bavarian-style Biers, European coffee or hot chocolate while exploring the market. Visitors will find quality gifts and holiday treats made by international vendors and Colorado small businesses.

An extra special bonus experience: the 110-foot-tall Mile High Tree, decked out with 60,000 LED lights to create nightly free public light shows choreographed to multicultural holiday music. Up to 140 guests at a time are welcomed inside the tree for an immersive viewing experience!
