What is Howl-O-Scream?

Howl-O-Scream is a ticketed Halloween horror event located at SeaWorld Orlando, Busch Gardens Tampa Bay, Busch Gardens Williamsburg, SeaWorld San Diego and SeaWorld San Antonio. During the event, ticket holders can wander around the amusement park after-hours and go through a series of haunted houses, enjoy thrilling rides and even drink some spooky-themed drinks.

In Orlando specifically, there are five haunted houses, including Everything Must Stay, The Rave Yard, The Crawl Space, Dark Net and one inspired by the hit horror movie franchise I Know What You Did Last Summer.

There are also “scare zones,” which are outdoor areas filled with cast members dressed up and ready to scare passersby. Those themes are Dooms District and Extermination Order, Nekrosis, Trailer Park Tragedy, Woodrot Hollow and Just One More Chapter, which is our personal favorite. Inspired by the dark romance novel genre, it was the perfect blend of ghoulish and bookish.

Being scared not your thing? No worries! The event also has five bars that feature Halloween-themed drinks and food items. They are called The Requiem, Byte Bar, Resurrection Club, The Black Hat and The Larva Lounge. There are also two live shows—The Monster Stomp and The Throttle— which allow  guests to dance, mingle and party all night.

Finally, if all of that wasn’t enough, the park also has four rides open for ticket holders to enjoy. These include The Pipeline, which is the world’s first surf coaster and makes riders feel like they’re flying, the Ice Breaker, which goes backward and the Expedition Odyssey: Fire & Ice, which simulates an Arctic expedition. And finally, the Mako, which stands at 200 feet tall and is the tallest roller coaster in Orlando—this was our favorite ride, we even took a spin on it three times in a row!
