The Most Popular Thanksgiving Side Dish in Each State to Inspire Your Turkey Day Feast
Thanksgiving is still a ways away, but if you’re determined to throw the ultimate Turkey Day feast, you’ll need to know what Thanksgiving side dishes to make. But with a large family gathering comes a conflict of food preferences. Lucky for you, we’ve found a way to save you from having to make each person their own special dish: Google teamed up with Business Insider to come up with a list of the most-searched Thanksgiving side dish by state — so if you’re struggling to come up with your Thanksgiving menu, why not just whip up the most beloved recipe in your home state?
The best flavors of fall are all represented on Google’s annual list: Think pumpkin, pecan, and butternut squash galore. Not surprisingly, the roundup also includes many Thanksgiving side dish staples, like stuffing, casseroles, and good ol’ mashed potatoes. But what’s most interesting are the regional differences — ambrosia salad seems like a favorite in the Northwest, while corn dishes reign supreme in the Eastern half of the United States. We’ll have to wait until we get closer to Thanksgiving 2018 to find out what Americans are searching for, but 2017’s most-searched side dishes should give you plenty of inspiration as you start dreaming up your holiday menu.
