14 Vintage Valentine’s Day Cards From the 1930s You’ll Want to Send Today

View gallery

Remember back in the day when you could count on a Valentine’s Day card from each of your classmates? It was so much fun decorating your own box to store all the sweet messages and select just the right card for each of your friends. Now that we’re older, we’re usually more focused on helping the little ones in our life carry on that tradition with their own buddies — and probably also expect something a little flashier from our grownup Valentine. (Diamonds always say “I love you” the best, don’t you think?)

As cute as the characters on children’s Valentine’s Day cards might be today, you have to admit the vintage ones shown below have an extra dash of nostalgic charm. The precious cartoon drawings and delightful messages instantly put us back into a simpler time. Each of these were produced in the 1930s, but we would count ourselves lucky to get one today. Take a look at the adorable vintage Valentine’s Day cards and be sure to share your favorites with your special Valentine!
