No One Else Would Take in Senior Pets, So This Woman Did. And Now She Has A LOT
Everyone deserves to spend the last years of their lives surrounded by compassion, quiet, and lots of care and love–and animals are no exception.
That’s why animal-lover Sher Polvinale, 68, launched House With a Heart, a nonprofit organization dedicated to making sure older pets–or animal “senior citizens,” if you will–who have nowhere else to go have a caring, loving home to live in during their final days.
She started the doggie retirement home in 2006 with her late husband and housed 10 full-time elderly dogs–but oh, how her family has since grown: Polvinale now has adopted more than 30 aging animals (even a horse!). As she explains how she gets it all done for her giant family in the clip below, you’ll be totally amazed.
