Bride’s Wheelchair-Bound Dad Has the BEST Surprise Ever for Her, and It Made Us Sob
When it comes to the ultimate wedding gift, it’s the thought that counts–which is why we’re simply blown away by the amount of hard work and planning that went into one dad’s amazing present for his unsuspecting daughter. Grab the tissues: This awesome gift has led to one of the most emotional wedding clips you’ll ever see.
Ralph Duquette was diagnosed with leukemia three years ago and has had to use a wheelchair to get around after undergoing extensive chemotherapy. His daughter, Heather, had long accepted that her father’s ailing health would mean he couldn’t physically “walk” her down the aisle on her wedding day. But she could never have predicted what her dad had up his sleeve.
It seems Ralph had been secretly working hard to regain the strength in his legs, arranging hush-hush home visits with his doctors and physical therapists every week for months, all so that he’d be able to stand and walk with his little girl as he gave her away. Heather had no idea it was coming–and neither did anyone except Ralph’s caretaker and the wedding’s DJ, who pauses the music so that this father of the bride can pull off his amazing feat. Just watch.

“When I saw him get up and come towards me, I was overwhelmed,” Heather Duquette told ABC News. “I started crying uncontrollably in front of everybody.”
Yep, that’s kind of how we felt while watching this video in front of our colleagues (sniff, sniff!). Congrats to Heather, her new husband, and her wonderful dad.
