How a Group of College Kids Made Sure Their Wheelchair-Bound Buddy Enjoyed an Awesome Rite of Passage
At Qunnipiac University, there’s a special tradition that’s very important to the students of this Connecticut college.
That rite of passage? Seeing the top of Sleeping Giant, a nearby mountain, which has stunning views and which you can only get to by hiking a steep trail on foot.
For junior Joey Mullaney, who was born with the nervous system disease Friedreich’s Ataxia, which has left him wheelchair-bound, hiking is out of the question.
But when Mullaney’s brothers at the Sigma Phi Epsilon fraternity chapter got involved, something very unexpected–and very touching–happened. Take a look.
